MURAL FOR FIRE STATION NO. 6. KYIV, Ukraine
This masterpiece stands as our tribute to the men of Fire Station No. 6 in Kyiv, Ukraine in honor of Firefighters' Day (September 17th).
Not the usual socks or shaving cream, but a heartfelt celebration of their dedication, jovial spirit, and resilience!
We are the "Probono Workshop" art school and artist Tatiana Zhuravel.
Lisa Basay and Tatiana Zhuravel.
This project epitomizes the essence of probono work! The school generously provided the paints and materials, the artists volunteered their talents, while the city administration and Kyiv's emergency services facilitated access to the wall and ensured safety during the work.
Moreover, it's also the largest mural ever painted by girls! We hand-painted 100 square meters using rollers on mesh. Because our art school commits us to complete dedication!
The mural is located within the premises of a restricted area, so it can only be fully seen in photos. On it, we depict a rescuer as a loving father not only to his own children but also to the dozens to whom he has given a second chance at life. One part of the mural on the side of the building portrays a beloved father, while the facade represents the second father (for those saved).
We are sincerely grateful to Oleg Garyaga for suggesting to work on such a colossal surface!
Our gratitude extends to Sergiy Shevchuk for his hospitality and tender care of us during the work!
And to the guys who patiently assisted us during the painting process—"a bit to the right, a bit lower," "there, up to the eyebrows," and so on — often sacrificing their lunch or dinner time.
